911DA Story: Story

I woke up on an ordinary morning, it seemed, and got ready for school. As I went outside to get in the car to go to school, I noticed that the sky was clear, and that planes had left their criss-crossing smoke streams all across the sky.
Two fellow students and I were creating anatomy charts in Mrs. Keller's Medical Science class. My teacher decided we could watch TV as we colored the charts, and I was designated as the one to find something educational on TV. As I scrolled through the channels, I noticed that a building was on fire, and I accidentally skipped it, but came back to it. As I turned it on CNN, I saw the building with smoke arising from it. They mentioned that an aircraft had crashed into the first tower. About 10 minutes later, as we were watching, we saw the second plane hit the second tower, and we were in shock. We stayed quiet for at least 10 minutes before any of us could mutter out a single word. A teacher was running down the hall, saying that we were under attack, and that we should watch the news. About 30 minutes or so later, I remember hearing the report that there was an explosion at the Pentagon, and possibly an explosion from a car bomb at the State Department, which turned out to be a hoax. Throughout that day, on September 11th, we watched the coverage on TV, and I was personally shocked for about 2 weeks afterwards. As I left school that day, the smoke trails were gone from the sky, as all of the planes had been grounded.
Before September 11th, I believed no one could hurt the United States of America. Today, I am graduated from that high school, and that will always be the most memorable day of my high school career, and of my life. God bless the families of the victims, the victims themselves, and may God bless America.
