Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I will never forget that morning, or exactly what I was doing. Being part of the 80's generation, we have not experienced very many "earth shattering" events that we will remember like we will remember September 11th. I am a runner and I had gone out for my morning run, noticing how unremarkably beautiful it was that day! It was a perfect day and it put me in such a good mood. I came back to my room and was doing my sit-ups while watching the today show. Unexpectantly, the whole mood changed on the show as they announced some "breaking news". When the put the picture of the fire from the first plane hit, the broadcasters, along with all of us at the audience were at a loss for words. I remembered being amazed that they were handling it somewhat okay, being in the same city and able to look out the window at what was happening. It was early, and being on a college campus, I seriously felt as if I was in the twilight zone and i couldn't beleive that it was happening, but I couldn't make sense of it, because I was all alone. I was scared, shocked and most of all confused. Just like all Americans, my first response was just being glued to the TV as it all unfolded and right before my eyes, I saw the second plane hit as they were doing an interview with a girl on the street right outside of the trade centers. > I had to leave then, I had to go talk to someone about it or at least make sure it wasnt a dream that I was having, cause I hadn't interacted with anyone yet that day. As soon as I went outside though,it was quite obvious and all of a sudden I was flashed into my leadership role as an RA (resident advisor) as hundreds of freshman came to me screaming that their parents worked in the Pentagon. It was absolute pandomonium and I was just in disbelief that I was living through this. It's weird to think back on it now and everything we've learned, how we have all changed and what we have done since then to build our country. Red, white and blue is everywhere and finally we ALL realize what a gift it is to have our freedom and live in the USA. It really puts things into perspective, huh?
