Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: There I stood, transfixed with what was being shown to me on the television screen, my mind not comprehending what I saw. Joining me in the room were my fellow high school classmates who were obviously sharing my same emotions on that September morning. The only thing that separated me from most of the rest is that I didn't cry. In fact, I haven't cried over the year since the tragedy occurred. This disturbs me because I feel as though it is my duty to my country to show extreme emotion with something this horrific. But I suppose I have dealt with it in my own way. I have been sad, confused, and absolutely livid. And though I may not have cried, I certainly have felt the impact of it all and am greatly disturbed. It is hard for me to imagine what the people are feeling and going through that are so closely connected with the September 11th attacks because I cannot relate. I was fortunate enough to not lose a loved one, but I pray for those who did. Hopefully they will manage to get on with their lives, which were so abruptly thrown into chaos in a matter of minutes. And may we all move on, never forgetting the impact this day has on every American or how it has changed the face of our beloved country. Our homeland. The land of freedom and happiness. But I doubt that any of us ever will. May all Americans also learn to rise up and overcome the enemy. We have to let it be known that they may bring harm to us, but this does not mean we will lay down and die.
