Title A name given to the resource September 11 Digital Archive Stories Description An account of the resource This collection is the bulk of the archive, representing the reactions and experiences of thousands of individuals beginning in 2002. 911DA Story 911DA Story: Story Tell us about what you did, saw, or heard on September 11th. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I was a sophomore in high school and the day began so bright and pretty, but when i arrived at secoind block my teacher had the television on and she was sitting in pure shock. At that time I didn't really understand what the circumstances were, but then she had told me that one the the Twin Towers had been hit by a plane. I turn and looked at the screen again, and it appear to be a action movie to me. I could not bring myself to believe that American sould be attack in such away. We sat in class and watched the images of the first plane hitting one of the towers and as the next two planes flew into the Pentagon and the second tower. I watched in total disbelief and horror. Then only seconds later one of my best friends got a phone call from her family. They told her that her cousin who worked in the Pentagon was there during the attack and that they had not got in contact with him. She was hysterical, and after that we took a minute out of class to pray silently to ourselves. I walked around the whole day trying to convince myself that nothing thi horrible could ever happen in the USA, but unfortunately it did. When I got out of school, there was a pile of cars at ever gas station for miles and miles. I wasn't worried about the gas or anything. I just wanted to be never my family for encouragement and strength.I don't ever think that I will forget my sophomore year in high school for two reason: I never thought that anything like Sept. 11th would happen in my life time; and I could never be more proud of how my country pulled together in strength and courage. I think that these are the qualities most Americans are made of, not to say that the USA is perfect, but on that day and forever more I would want to live in any other country on earth. Also after that I had never seen so many people loose their jobs, but to sum my opinion up, "He will never put more on us than we can bear" and that is just how i feel and I don't think that my opinion will efer change.
