ON 9/11/01, AS I SAT AT MY DESK, A WOMAN CAME SCREAAMING INTO MY OFFICE SAYING, "WHERE IS THE REAL ESTATE CLASS? I HAVE TO GET MY HUSBAND RIGHT AWAY?" I SAID THAT THE CLASS WAS DOWN THE HALL BUT WAS IN SESSION AND THEY WOULD BE HAVING A "BREAK" SOON, WHY DIDN'T SHE HAVE A SEAT AND WAIT BECAUSE I COULD NOT DISTURB THE CLASS. SHE KEPT SCREAMING AT ME AND SAID "DON'T YOU KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENED?????" I REPLIED, "NO, I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE REFERRING TO." SHE SAID, "DON'T YOU HAVE THE TV ON?" TO WHICH I REPLIED, "NO, I'M AT WORK." SHE SAID "THE PLANES ARE FLYING INTO THE BUILDINGS IN NEW YORK!!!!" (BY THIS TIME, I WAS CONVINCED THAT THE WOMAN MUST HAVE ESCAPED FROM THE MENTAL FLOOR AT A LOCAL HOSPITAL ! I TRIED TO CALM HER DOWN AND SAID, "JUST WAIT A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND THE CLASS WILL BE RIGHT OUT ON THEIR BREAK." SHE CRIED AND SAID HER SON WORKS IN N.Y. AND SHE WANTED HER HUSBAND TO GO THERE WITH HER. I TOLD MY BOSS, WHO TURNED ON THE TELEVISION IN HIS OFFICE AND THE REST IS HISTORY !!
