Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: When the first plane crashed into the World Trade Center, I was surfing. Enjoying one of the greatest, most care free activities on the planet, while the nation was in turmoil. While most people were crying, or watching in awe at the horrific scenes unfolding on their television, or for some, down the street, I was experiencing bliss, in the Pacific Ocean. Me and my other friends on the surf team from our school had no idea what happened until we got home. When I got home, my whole family was up. My dad had just gotten home from Orange County Airport, where his flight to NEW YORK CITY had been cancelled. They looked at me with penetrating eyes. Five minutes ago, my biggest care had been the hole in the knee of my wetsuit. It's incredible how everything can change in the blink of an eye. In a strange way, I'm glad I was surfing when the tower was hit. I am one of probably 1000 people in the entire world to say that I was in the ocean when the terrorists struck home.
