A group of 24 from Hemet, Ca. were vacationing in Branso, we had arrived on Saturday 9/8. On Tuesday morning, we all had gotten up early and left on a hour drive to a beautiful
private park.-can't remember the name right now. Anyway, after the tour & lunch on the trail, we were back at the small general store/gift shop. When I noticed everyone had cleared out, I went outside and one of our tour directors was telling everyone about the events of the morning. I came in on the middle and couldn't believe what she was saying, and she kept interjecting, "this is not a joke, it really happened".
I was concerned for my son (active Navy) & at the time was stationed in Millington, Tn. Fortunately, one of the members on the tour had his lap top. When we arrived back at the motel, I was able to e-mail my son and was relieved to hear he wouldn't be going anywhere at the time. Then all of us went to our rooms and turned on tv.--we all had trouble believing what we were seeing.
Our next concern was flying home the following Monday. We were lucky that the airlines started flying again by that time, but, limited flights. We all experienced the baggage checks, & I mentioned to many of my friends when I got home, that I felt safer on that flight than I had all the other times I've flown. The security check was great.
