Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I had just Worked a graveyard shift and was very tired. I had driven home thinking what a perfect day it was. How blue the sky was and the weather was just wonderful. It was strange I had no idea that New York was in trouble. The morning made me think of an odd saying and it still huants me in hindsight. "It's a buetifull day to die" I have heard someplace that Indian warriors would say this going into battle. That perfect morning driveing home I thought of that. Possible because my father had just passed away. I'm not sure. I got to the house where I lived with my mother since my fathers death. I had just crawled into bed. The phone rang it was my girlfriend calling from galveston long distance! All she could say was any channel turn on the T.V. any channel. I had never heard her sound like this. I turned on the T.V. My mother and I watched stunned. My mother remembered pearl harbour and said that for many nights they did not sleep after that news and that I would not sleep after this. She was correct. I did'nt sleep for a longtime, I would wake turn on the imagies see that yeah it was real and try to sleep agian. My mind just did not want to except what I had seen. Right after;I did not put a flag on my car or flag in the yard. I was in a store and saw a small silver medallion I've never seen any since like it, but I bought it. To this day and hopefully many more I wear it,not for you, not for me, for those who went to help and have helped since, for the ones left behind but mostly for those who had no chance for another perfect blue sunny day.
