Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: The morning of Sept. 11, 2001, I was recovering in the hospital from a C-section. I had given birth to my second son 10 hours prior to the first tower being struck. I had no idea what was happening as I was feeling quite ill. My doctor had called me to see how I was and had asked if I knew what was happening. When I told her I had not yet had the television on, she suggested for my mental well-being not to turn it on. My husband came to see me a little while later and by that time he informed me all flights were grounded. He was really upset as one of his sisters lives 10 blocks from the WTC and the other in Boston and had not heard from either of them. (it turns out, the sister in NYC did not even now what was happening, she slept through both towers collapsing) It was probably weeks before I was able to turn on the T.V. and see the horrific images of that day. I felt so much guilt if I basked in the joy of my newborn son. It took a long time to get over that guilt, I still don't know if I am completly over it. I am brought to tears whenever I see Lisa Beamer on the news with her newborn child who will never meet her heroic father in this life or whenever I see stories of the infants born after 9/11 and are fatherless. September 11, 2001 changed a lot of things for a lot of people and I pray for all the families who lost loved ones, that they find comfort in knowing that one day they will be reunited in God's wonderful Kingdom.
