Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: It was such a clear, beautiful day and, as always I could see the twin towers from my office building at JFK Airport. Standing out- side, we noticed smoke coming from one of the towers and thought it might be in front of the tower, when we were told that a plane "hit" the WTC. We entered the bldg and our 2nd floor hall is glass enclosed and faces the WTC and we all watched in horror as the 2nd plane hit and we saw the fireball. Cries of agony came from all of us and we were not sure if another target would be the airport. I am the mother of a NYFD Capt and did not know if my son was at work that day; his firehouse is located near the World Trade Center. It wasn't until hours later that I found out that he did not have to report to work that morning and to this day I thank God for sparing him. He lost 4 of his men and is still attending memorial services for all of his "brothers". My heart will always ache for all who perished that day; I appreciate my Country and all it stands for and will never forget those evil acts. My comunity, Rockaway, lost so many of our bravest and finest. but we continue to stand together and never forget those who perished that day. God bless us all.
