On this date 9/11/06 I reflect (as I do daily) on the status of the country that I live in. This year I have my first Grandson Logan. He wasn't alive when 911 hit; but his life will be changed forever because of it. His Dad, Mom, Grandmom and Grandfather will relate stories to him about how life "used to be" - while he tries to understand the life he lives now. Freedom means many things to many people; different perspectives. For my Grandson; freedom will be the definition he gets from those he cherishes in his life. 911 will be the underlying life lesson he will learn. To live in a "free" world does NOT come without a promise. A promise from him to protect that world no matter who he decides to "become". To be the best you can be; to help others no matter the sacrifice: the legacy of those who did will live on in my Grandson. WE MUST NEVER FORGET; WE MUST NEVER BE LESS VIGILANT, WE MUST HONOR OUR LIVES IN EACH AND EVERY WAY WE CAN. We must take strength from those who gave their lives and strenthen our lives today with the belief that there IS a better world. All of us can make a difference.
