Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I was teaching my 8th grade history class. Another teacher ran into the classroom and told me that the pentagon had just been threatened. I immediately turned on cnn. The first image that we saw was the first plane hitting the world trade center. The whole class went silent. Even though I teach in N.C. I still have a lot of kids who move in from N.Y.. The next shock came 5 min. later when the second plane hit. We prayed. Our class had children from many faiths but on this day we prayed together as one. The rest of the morning was spent in an emotional fog trying to make sense of the events of the morning. 9-11 taught my class the price of freedom. It taught them the meaning of community. The tragic events of that day opened their eyes to the greatness of their country and the humanity of its people.
