<text>November 24, 2012 I visited the 9/11 memorial. I felt this memorial calling me to come and see so when I got the chance to go to NYC last Thanksgiving I wanted to go to the memorial. It was 6:30 pm on 11/24 when I entered the grounds.I was amazed by the fact that all I could hear was rushing water.
As I approached the first pool I started to cry. I lost no one that day in 2001, however, I did greive for lives lost in the horrific events of that day. Standing there watching the water and looking at the names I will never forget. At that moment the calling inside of me that brought me there disappeared. I had fufilled what I needed to do. What I learned that night was this.....I needed to go and see, however some people will never be able to go there. It is not because that don;t want to...they can't. It made me realize that eventhough I did not know any of the names on the memorial pools they were people just like me.
The 9/11 Memorial changed me that day and made me realize that life is very short. You must take each moment and cherish it.</text>
