I was in the kitchen straightening up from breakfast with the TV on. I had "Good News America" on and they started talking about a fire in one of the towers at the World Trade Centers. They were not sure what had happened but it was obvious that it was something big so I stopped what I was doing and gave the TV my full attention. While they were discussing what could have happened and showing the smoke and fire on the right side of the TV screen a passenger plane came into view, before anyone knew what was happeneing this plane come around and slammed into the other tower. And it became clear to me and to the people on the news that the United States was under attack. **Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. Yes, my life has changed. I never enjoyed flying before but now I can't even imagine getting on a plane. I tried to say my prayers before but I thank god for another day. I try to be more compassionate toward other people. I find myself looking up whenever I hear a plane. **What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? I think that people should remember that these people were just going about their everyday lives and in an instant hundreds of thousands of lives were changed. I think that it is important to remember heroes, the people who put their lives ar risk to help other people. I think people should remember that no one is guaranteed tomorrow. You should treat people with respect and compassion. **Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feeling about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? As soon as I realized that we were being attacked I immediately went to the closet and brought out our American flag (which to this point had only been flown on patriotic holidays). That flag has remained up since that day and I can't bring myself to take it down. I have always been very sentimental about the American flag and all that is stands for but it reminds me how proud that I am to be an American when I see all the other flags.
